[ It's a great deal nicer than the "jokes" people would play on one another at Hyperion, that's for sure. They were less "Surprise! It's me!" and more "Surprise! There's a Tiny Psycho with a knife in your desk!"

Hearing from Lena of all people that he's pretty decent though, that gives Rhys pause as he looks over at her with a small measure of surprise. That is definitely not something he hears from people, like, ever. ]

Wait...are you being serious or is this like a sarcastic thing? I can't tell.

His facial expressions make Lena raise an eyebrow and she finds herself at a loss of what to say, only because his response is one that she didn't expect. Scratching her cheek, she smiles at him. ]

Not a whole bunch, no. Hyperion wasn't very big on the whole "positive reinforcement" side of things. Neither was Pandora.

[ OR HIS FRIENDS FOR THAT MATTER but then they all started off as sub-par human beings to begin with, so. They got better? Vaughn got better. Rhys tried. ]

Man, what a lame place! Positive reinforcement is good for everyone, it actually really helps keep people motivated.

Yeah...usually if someone was giving you positive feedback back home it meant that they were going to take you out the next day. Or had already managed to screw you over. "Nice" wasn't a very popular personality type on Helios.

I haven't always been the way I am now. I was pretty awful before the whole...alien treasure adventure. I'm still not sure I'm that great?

You know, I will take that. I'd rather be in the middle ground than towards the other end of that. It's...I've seen what people do when they're on that end of things. So I'm trying to be better than that these days.
