He hasn't forgotten about her, his spunky partner in the training sim who had a fondness for firearms like he did, and he'd been eager to meet up with her again. Make sure she's settling in okay, shoot the breeze, maybe goof off a bit if it's a slow day.
So when he sees the patrol schedule and discovers the two of them are assigned to work together the next day, he's up all the earlier to meet her outside the guardhouse, warming up with his usual little jig of perpetual inertia. He can't hold still at the best of times, and today he's no better for his excitement to be working with her.
Aaaand as soon as he can spot her approaching, he's waving with his whole body in greeting. ]

She's smart enough to not use her abilities just to get to work quickly. There's a skip in her step as she makes her way over to the guardhouse and a small smile spreads out on her lips when she hears a familiar voice. ]
Way too long! Man, it's so cool to see that you're here. [ Grinning now, she claps her hands together annnnd -- yeah, she's gonna be cheeky and use one blink to position herself right in front of him. ]

[ A grin splits his face to match hers. Even if the refugees tended to be a pretty tight-knit group by their shared, secret origin, this is still a huge city with millions of people. He considers himself extremely lucky to be working with her in this fashion.
Then she does her "blink" thing, which is still extremely cool, and he miiiight have taken the slightest step back in surprise. Look, he's used to seeing a very different kind of warping. ]

I can say that it was certainly interesting. Not sure if I want to go through that again though.

There's a lot of risks when it comes to it ... mostly, it's uncontrollable without this harness. [ And not a lot of fun to have, too. Lena isn't too worried when it comes to explaining what's happened to her because it's no big deal in her eyes.
Not anymore now that she has a way to control it at least. ]
It's super fun to do that. Although, not everyone enjoys it.
